The two photos on the home page were taken 40 years ago when I entered a bodybuilding contest at age 42. The biceps shot was taken at the contest, the ab shot was taken at a gym during prep a week prior to the contest.
All the photos on this page were taken in my home gym in December of 2024 about two weeks before my 82nd birthday.
The first series of photos show the pull-up as done with a wide grip and (nearly) touching the chest to the bar. This exercise works mainly the lats, rear delts, and biceps.
The second series of photos (below) show the hanging leg raise raising the knees above the level of the bar. On the internet you'll see all sorts of essays and U-tube clips talking about the importance of "the core." This exercise is by far the best exercise for the core. The abs of all the bodybuilders of the 50s and 60s were built with this exercise, yet very few people do this exercise anymore because of certain misinformation about it started by folks who didn't know how to do the exercise properly.
